Sajid Sohail is the
founder and CEO of Inforient, Inc. and founding partner of Altair
Ventures. Mr. Sohail has more than 22 years of experience in various
high technology developments and investments. Mr. Sohail is also a
partner with Altair Ventures, which works with entrepreneurs at
early stage of development and provides them key strategic,
technical, business and financial help. Prior to Altair he founded
the company Dazzle Multimedia and served as its CTO and CEO and
managed its acquisition by SCM Microsystems, a public company on the
NASDAQ stock exchange. After the acquisition he served as Executive
Vice President and General Manager of the Digital TV and Video
division. |

Mr. Sohail was
the visionary behind the new consumer video editing market that
Dazzle created and maintained number one position with as much as
70% market share. Mr. Sohail served as Director of engineering for
C-Cube Microsystems prior to Dazzle Multimedia. He joined C-Cube in
1992 and stayed through the company IPO in 1994 and left in 1996 to
start Dazzle Multimedia. Before C-Cube Mr. Sohail was at another
startup Tera Microsystems, which built SPARC chipset and
workstation. Prior to Tera Mr. Sohail spent seven years at Digital
Equipment Corporation in various engineering positions in chip and
system design areas. Mr. Sohail is also very involved in
entrepreneurship development in Pakistani Community in North
America. He was one of the founding Charter Members and later
President of Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs Silicon Valley
(OPEN). OPEN-Silicon Valley promotes entrepreneurship within the
Pakistani-American community by providing guidance, mentoring, and
networking opportunities to its members in order to facilitate their
success in Silicon Valley. Mr. Sohail is also very involved with
local community development. He was a founding board member of
Franklin-McKinley Education Foundation (FMEF). FMEF is the leading
operating foundation serving inner-city communities of San Jose. It
is their mission to redefine community through the strategic support
of education and youth development.
Mr.
Sohail received a Bachelor and a Master of Science degree in
Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois
(Urbana-Champaign) in 1981 and 1983 respectively. |
